Over the last several weeks, I have been creating simple images that quote the creed and uploading them to our church’s various social networks. A big part of my job is Social Media management and finding ways to connect and engage with our congregation online. These images are typical of what we see especially various scripture art images, etc. it’s nothing new, but I like to do it a little differently. I enjoy doing this in series form. Over Christmas I worked on telling the birth of Christ through these images as we lead up to Christmas Day. Another unique aspect of these images is that they were made completely on my iPhone. I thought I would post the images here, and list the apps and places I got content to develop these images. I have a lot of fun making these types of things for the church, and people seem to enjoy the reminder of a verse, encouraging quote, principles/points from previous teachings, or in this case the creed.
In this season of Lent, may we be reminded of the sacrifice that Christ made on our behalf. May we be reminded of, and encouraged by The Apostles Creed…
I believe in God, the Father almighty,
Maker of heaven and earth,
And in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord,
Who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary,
Suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died and was buried;
He descended into hell; on the third day he rose again from the dead;
He ascended into heaven, and is seated at the right hand of God the Father almighty;
From there he will come to judge the living and the dead.
I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy catholic Church,
The communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins,
The resurrection of the body, and life everlasting.

I love the creed, and I think it’s important for christians to know since it’s an easy to follow foundation of what we believe. The creed outlines the Bible, and the redemption story of Christ. It has been recited and prayed over centuries by christians all over the world in various denominations and churches. If you’d like to read more about the creed as it relates to what we believe I recommend the book “Common Ground” By Keith Drury.
